About Us

As a registered charity, we are dedicated to providing emergency food assistance to those in need throughout Crediton and its surrounding villages. In our community, many families struggle to put food on the table due to unforeseen circumstances such as job loss, benefit delays, or unexpected bills. Amidst these challenges, our mission remains steadfast: to ensure that no one goes hungry.

Upholding confidentiality and compassion, we offer not only food support but also a range of additional services, including financial advice, referrals to other agencies, and support for children in receipt of Free School Meals. Our commitment to accountability is unwavering, as we remain transparent to both the Charity Commission and our esteemed Board of Trustees. Join us in our mission to nourish hope and foster community resilience in Crediton

HOW WE HELP

Food Parcels

Our Food Bank parcels have been created to provide a household with enough food for 5 days’ worth of meals, adjusting the amounts for the number of children and adults within the home.

Debt Advice

CHAT offers Debt and Money Advice providing free, unconditional, fully confidential advice and practical support. The Foodbank is very pleased to have this service based here in Crediton; a local Community Money Advice Centre.

Energy Advice

Exeter Community Energy is a community-owned organisation providing practical energy advice and support with the aim of helping as many residents save money and stay warm in their homes.

Cafe

Our Friday morning Cafe at Crediton Congregational Church is an opportunity for all in the community to come together to connect and offer support.

Springboard Initiative

Our dedicated Community Support Advisor supports households in our community to move out of poverty, prevent homelessness & unmanageable debt, improve health & wellbeing and enable people to rebuild their lives.

Housing Advice

Accommodation and housing in Crediton can sometimes be hard to find. We can assist with connecting those needing housing with the appropriate organisation.

Referring Others

Are you aware of people in our community facing challenges? We can offer support and interventions to reduce the pressure and stress many individuals and families are experiencing.

Other Support Networks

We can’t solve every problem ourselves – but we probably know a network or organisation that helps in every situation!

HOW CAN I HELP?

The Foodbank is completely funded by donations and receives no monetary support from council or government. The amazing community of Crediton is the lifeblood of our organisation, and we would love for you to get involved.
