Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp cooking oil
  • 12 meatballs
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 2 cans of chopped tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp of ketchup or 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 400 ml water
  • Large bunch of basil, finely chopped
  • 225g dried spaghetti

Instructions:

  1. Heat the oil in a deep, wide frying pan or saucepan.
  2. Tip in the meatballs and cook for 5 mins until brown all over.
  3. Add the onion and garlic and fry for another 8 mins until softened.
  4. Add tomatoes, ketchup/paste, chopped basil, and water and bring to the boil.
  5. Add the spaghetti and cook for 10–12 mins, stirring occasionally.
  6. When the pasta is cooked and the sauce has reduced, season to taste.
