Ingredients:
- 1 tbsp cooking oil
- 12 meatballs
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 2 cans of chopped tomatoes
- 2 tbsp of ketchup or 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 400 ml water
- Large bunch of basil, finely chopped
- 225g dried spaghetti
Instructions:
- Heat the oil in a deep, wide frying pan or saucepan.
- Tip in the meatballs and cook for 5 mins until brown all over.
- Add the onion and garlic and fry for another 8 mins until softened.
- Add tomatoes, ketchup/paste, chopped basil, and water and bring to the boil.
- Add the spaghetti and cook for 10–12 mins, stirring occasionally.
- When the pasta is cooked and the sauce has reduced, season to taste.
